Continuous Pasteurisation System (CPS)

The CPS is designed to enable the fish farmer to disinfect incoming water supplies, reducing the need for chemical treatments and so helping the environment as well as the profit margins.

Using tried and tested technologies, the CPS successfully eliminates pathogens to a concentration where they no longer represent a threat to fish. The CPS operates independent of suspended solids levels, organic loading and water discolouration. This puts the CPS at the forefront of aquaculture technology.

The system heats all incoming water to an optimum temperature, and then cools it down again, transferring the heat from the disinfected water into the incoming water. The CPS is continually monitored to maintain system integrity and a series of alarms and fail-safe operations ensure your fish are always protected.

Comparison Chart

Factor CPS UV Ozone
Turbidity No reduction in efficiency Compromised due to lack of light penetration May be compromised if of organic content
Large Suspended Solids No reduction in efficiency Compromised due to lack of light penetration May be compromised due to lack of penetration into particle
Fine Suspended Solids No reduction in efficiency May result in coating of tubes and lack of light penetration May be compromised if of organic content
Fail Safe Operation Easy to monitor, automatic fail safe system preventing contaminated water from entering fish system Expensive to monitor. Few systems include fail safe as standard Expensive to fail-safe. May cause serious fish mortalities if operation not correctly controlled
Cost of Operation Negligible running cost especially on systems using heated water Negligible running cost but high cost of lamp replacement every 6 months High power consumption and oxygen costs
