The minisilo is a small
incubation silo specifically designed for early incubation of
salmonid ova.
They are a low cost alternative
to home-made buckets and have the advantages of easy storage,
quick assembly and splash free operation. The latter can be of
particular importance when using the silos to hold ova whilst
awaiting disease test results from the parent fish.
In addition to holding eggs pending
testing, the silos are the perfect, manageable system for holding
excess eggs in chilled systems, prior to transfer to the hatching
systems.
A loose fitting black polyethylene lid
(not shown) protects eggs against light and reduces the risk of cross
infection.
